  • What are the GUIDING PRINCIPLES of the league? To accomplish the league’s stated objectives, we will adhere to the following principles:

    1. Stay on time - Registration and driver's meetings will start promptly at the scheduled time, as will all on-track sessions. Cushion time has been built into the schedule to ensure racing is complete by 4:00 PM (see schedule).

    2. Fairness - To ensure the integrity of the league, the Race and Tech Directors will not be affiliated with any kart shop, entrant, or any other vested interest. Rules will be clearly written and defined and equally implemented throughout the season.

    3. Novice guidance - The league will establish a mentor program wherein new drivers will be provided guidance by experienced members. Mentors will provide track walks, driver coaching and basic setup information in exchange for discounts on entry fees.

    4. Professionalism - All staff will be paid professionals with expertise in their given positions.

What are the TECHNICAL regulations? The MKL will race in accordance with established technical regulations for each class. Rotax will follow the RMax Challenge technical specifications, TaG will follow IKF regulations, and World Formula will follow WKA/IKF regulations. A Supplemental Rulebook will address exceptions to the technical specifications as well as membership and competition regulations specific to the MKL

What is required for MEMBERSHIP? Membership is open to amateur drivers not actively competing in any regional or national karting series (i.e. STARS, ProKart, IKF, Gatorz). League membership is required to participate in the points championship.

What AWARDS are offered? The top three point earners for the day will be awarded "Trophy Stickers" in lieu of traditional trophies. The stickers, similar to Champ Car's Pole Winner stickers, are designed to be placed on the kart to display the driver's accomplishments. Year end trophies or plaques and prizes will be awarded to the top finisher in each class.
